Just a Quick Question RE Proof of Payments

Hello all.

Just a quick question really. I paid part of an electricity bill with a cheque when I was a student in a shared residency and would like a piece of paperwork from my bank confirming that 'a cheque for amount x was paid from account y to recipient z on date xyz'.

I'm with Barclays. Can such a 'proof of cheque payment' be obtained from my local branch?

You can ask for the bank to provide you a letter. They might agree.

    Or

You can request the original cheque (or a copy, front & rear) back. As well as all the usual details on the cheque, it should have details confirming which bank account the amount was deposited in and when.
This will take time and a fee is generally payable.
