Stay with BG or switch to a capped/fixed supplier ?

Looking for some advice please

I have gas and electricity paid through direct debit on the British Gas Essentials tariff

My gas usage over the year i have figured out at 14,067 kwh, still trying to figure out my electricity over the year :embarasse (Does anyone know a good on-line calculator? )

I was wondering if it would be better to stick to this tariff or move to a fixed/capped tariff ???

Postcode is G46 8LX if any use?
