LLOYDS/TSB or MORGAN STANLEY BT CHARGES anyone know??

Well folks I'm still searching for my next card, looking for no BT fee if possible.

Martin's list has LLoyds/TSB card as FEE FREE, but just checked the T&C's online and they state BT fee charge of the usual 2%, which has put me off applying.

Hubby saw advert for Morgan Stanley, anyone done a recent BT with either can help me with the answer??

Help pls! I'm running out of alternate cards to apply for, as well as time now on my last 0% deal..._pale_

Also....anyone know who L/TSB and Morgan Stanley cards are owned by, I need none RBS card to BT to.

  • I did Morgan Stanley a few weeks ago. Fee free.

Morgan Stanley are independent, i.e. they are not a branded MBNA etc card.

Did you check, or "glance"? ;)

    "Charges
Cash Withdrawals, Cheques & Balance Transfers* 2% or minimum £2.50

*except for balance transfers made within the first 6 weeks of opening your account"

When you asked this question on 20/9/05 you were given some links to 0% and BT fee-free cards. Have you used them, because every deal currently available is listed on these links?

YB, I checked, I am not going to jump into the wrong deal!

Where did you get that quote from?

Platinum card (0% 9 mths) lineage pulled up from the L/TSb own site applic. form is:

'We charge "2% of the amount of each BT or cash withdrawal......unless we tell you that a charge is not payable.'

Which is again not exactly crystal, guess you have to troll down to a branch and get assurance form the manager then...

Their other card the Premier is only 6 mths at 0% - Summary box on BT's says 'subject to terms' and I can't find BT fee charge info in the T&C's PDF they show, as terms 1-8 seem to be hidden somewhere else! ....

Advance card is 5.5% on BT's....no good to me...

Only confirmation of Fee Free from experience I've had is post2 here... so far the other options listed as no fee have all turned out to be no go after checking. Bar Natwest that is a RBS card and so no good to me...

Also not every card is listed on the links I had - eg. stoozing.com didn't have A&L as on Martin's list, but then A&L have since been confirmed as charging, albeit capped.

Need to BT about 4K, so it's important.

The summary box. (I've referenced the source in my post now)

I'm sure the deal is the same now as it was earlier in the year when I got mine, and the "first 6 weeks" offer was on the paperwork they sent me.

But you should ring them to confirm as their standard BT fee is not capped.

Ok thx, I'm pretty sure the actual T&C's override the summary box, and if you check them for the Plat. card, like I did, they state they WILL charge a fee unless they tell you they won't..Aaaarghh :wall:

Oh well there is a branch in our village, but it's not open when my hubby is not at work, or Sat mornings....

May be going to Morgan Stanley for 6 mths then..
