thank you , i once spoke to someone else in the village who has a different type of meter ( mines digital ) who stated its from 11pm-7am so the 12.30-7.30 listed for the midlands must be close
cheers0 -
Those times are what they are meant to be.
If you have a mechanical clock that switches between day & night it is possible that it is losing or gaining time so it happens at different times.
A colleague of mine had one that lost 30 min a week - so long as she knew when it was she was able to cook, wash etc at the cheap rate.0 -
Hi, my digital meter says on it '11:30 to 6:30' for the economy 7 times. I tried to find this info out the other day and moneysupermarket states that it can vary according to supplier and region, there's no set standard. I'd recommend finding out for sure, so that you don;t have to stay up later than necessary to do the ironing/laundry/cook dinner/watch tv etc lol!
Incidentally, I noticed today my clock is an hour earlier on my meter, which is annoying, cos it means my usage doesn't get cheaper until half past 12. Could this be something to do with british summertime and do you think there's any hope in reclaiming at the lower rate for all those late nights on this forum?!0 -
I doon't think it will vary by supplier as this is controlled by the timeswitch and it isn't something the supplier will control. (Moneysupermarket may be using old terminology thinking of Public electriciy Supplier, now equivelant to the distributor.)
If you have a clock type one it won't change to BST, but there are some out there that switch based on a radio signal, so they might.0
