Renting a property + expensive fridge

  • Morning all...

So here's the update for this morning, based on yesterday's performance. The electricity meter ticked over another 1kWh overnight, over an exact 8hr period. Nothing was on, it had virtually stopped when I went to sleep last night...

There wasn't much ice at the back of the fridge, however the wine thermometer says that the temperature in the fridge is 8C, even though the little fridge smelly things that change colour when it's cold enough have indeed changed colour.

I'm somewhat confident that the fridge isn't working properly and getting the food down to the required temperature, but I don't know if it's too worthwhile contacting the landlord about it. If it's 8C after a full night without opening the door, then I guess we only have 2-3 days less than the use by dates on our food. It would also explain why something have been going off a bit faster than we would've liked. 8C is much higher than the recommended 4C max that fridges should run at...

Oh, and I found that on the back of my laptop, there's a little sticker that says 16V / 4.5A, which would indeed be 72W. For what it's worth :)
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...
