Stuck Kitchen Drawer

Bit of help needed here please
In my mum's fitted kitchen she has a drawer she uses for utensils. Something has got stuck and it will not open more than a couple of centimetres (not enough to get anything through the gap to push whatever is sticking back a bit). Pulling hard on the drawer only seems to be loosening the front fascia, not the front part of the drawer itself.
There is a cupboard directly underneath it and banging on it or trying to slide it along from below isn't helping either.
Any ideas?

Assuming it's kitchen utensil stopping it from open could you get an "L" shaped bit of wire or similar in through the gap and move the offending item?0

I would just keep on pulling it until it broke, but then again I have no patience. Can you slide a long tool in the crack and wiggle it about?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

Check that the drawer is properly seated on it's runners.
With ours it's possible, if you lift the drawer as you pull it forwards, for the drawer to come slightly off the metal slider and then it is a fraction of an inch higher than it should be.
Holding the runner and the drawer you can reseat the runner in the correct position and the drawer drops to it's proper position and will open/close properly. However your drawer may not be this type.
If it's not this banging the bottom of the drawer may dislodge the utensil. There is sometimes also a space behind the drawer and should all else fail you may be able to unwind a metal coat hanger and by emptying the cupboard and progging the coat hanger wire round the back of the drawer be able to hook the offending item out of the way.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Thanks for the replies.
Unfortunately there is no gap to slip some wire or something in through.
I might try the Rear Offensive Manoeuver though Ted!
Cheers

Have you tried shining a torch into the gap, to see if you can spot the offending item which is causing the obstruction? That would help you to aim with your bit of wire........to dislodge the obstruction. I would try a gentle approach before applying brute force.;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Cheers Nile, but there is no gap.
The countertop overhangs the drawer by maybe a few centimetres. The drawer front panel itself is maybe a few centimetres thick and on the front is a fascia with grooving and a pull handle (same depth).
When you pull the handle it moves forward a few cms but not enough to clear the countertop. Pulling forcefully is only loosening the front fascia and if that comes off, same old problem minus the handle!"Life is like a game of cards.
