Do I need Permission from Freeholder for Sky?

Have bought a leasehold property and I wanted to check
1. Do I need permission from the freeholder to have a Sky dish installed?
2. Do I need permission from my neighbour on the 1st floor to have a sky dish installed? (It's a maisonette so only one other flat is above me)
Thanks

the terms of your lease should tell you whether you need permissionKeep the Faith:cool:0

I would imagine you need to ask the freeholder, but its nothing to do with the other flat (unless its going to be fixed where they can see it). Do you pay a maintenance cost each month/ year? Sky can install one dish that serves quite few flats (maybe its more than one dish, but they do some kind of multi occupancy service)0

There's only the 2 of us, it's a converted house, ground floor and first floor. I will contact the freeholders.. should I do it through a solicitor or can I contact the managing agents directly?Kavanne

There really is no need for solicitors. Just give them a ring.0

Depends on what they want! Yes some will say no, ours have organised it so we have central dishes for a couple of flats - or something.
Good luck!0
