Am I being scammed by PowerGen who don't want me to swap?
I have just received a phone call from the company I am switching from
(PowerGen) about the company I am switching to (NPower). NPower were
assessed as being cheaper than PowerGen via your site and they also
offer a £50 rebate at the end of one year.
The caller from PowerGen tells me he believes there is a clause in the
NPower contract that means I won't be entitled to the £50 rebate
because I'm not using enough gas and electricity. I don't remember
seeing anything like that in the literature from NPower and the chap who called me said he's not even sure it's in their small print (I smell a big one here).
PowerGen are also telling me they will give me a 10% discount of my bill per year if I stay with them (which sounds fair enough).
How can I tell whether what's being said to me is true? Is this a
scare tactic by PowerGen? I intend to call NPower but it's all getting a bit confusing.
Thanks
Martin

All that matters is the T&Cs that you sign - read them carefully. If there's some vaporous exclusion that they "forgot" to put in the T&Cs and then spring on you later, then it might as well not exist.0
