The easiest wireless router?

Looking for the best bargain in a wireless router for a friend to set up on her home pc so the wireless enabled laptop can also use.
I have set up my own and another friends but I have to say that neither were simple and it was more by mistake than design that I got them both to work.
This friend lives far away so I can't go and help to set it up and can only help via the phone, any suggestions?

Look in the Grab It Now section. There was a thread regarding a Linksys router for £49, but it eventually turned into a conversation about a Netgear router.
The Netgear DG834GT, it's very easy to use. I ordered one for my parents. The router normally costs about £65, but there's a way of getting the router and a usb wireless dongle (worth £35) for £54 on Amazon. You need to use a promotional code which was removed by the mods but I'm sure if you PM around someone will give it to you.
Can't wait to get mine, was a good bargain for £54."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
I'll have a look thanks. I did look at PCW online last night and they had a Belkin reduced on the website but available for Collect and Go at £30 something. Anyone know anything about Belkin? I use a Belkin dongle on my laptop and it was easy enough to install and use.0

reviews on amazon seem to say it's easy to set up

only one bad report there
One very good point is that Belkin provide 24/7 free telephone support and a lifetime warrantyEx forum ambassador

We bought a Linksys four-way router about 18 months ago. It was extremely simple to use. I expected to have trouble linking the laptop to it, but it found the connection itself without me having to do anything which, in my naivety, I found amazing! We paid about £80 for it back then but I'm sure you can get them cheaper now.0

Buy a Belkin router.Their 24hr free phone line will talk your friend through any setting up problems Took 30minutes from starting instalation, phoning belkin to manually configure connection to up and running. I've only installed the pci cards on the other PCs . You instal the software, fit the card, switch back on-bingo its done.no hassle. Id imagine their laptop card would be the same.0

I've got a Belkin wireless-G router and was a piece of !!!!!! to get running, just plug in and off you go. The only issue i had was getting it to connect to the net as i had no idea what settings i needed, played about changing them and off i went.0

I have a Belkin wireless router, basically I just had to plug in the power and the modem, and I could connect to the internet from my wireless laptop. Of course, it's advisable you do a bit of setup to enable wireless security, but that's simple on a Belkin.0

Amazon had the code printed on their site the last time I looked! And btw, it's the DG834G, without the T on the end, as I've noticed you write a few times now
The one you're quoting is the new 108mbps model and is much more expensive!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
