I applied for a bank account with them when I was 15.
A month later I was 16, and have just realised that I possibly should have received a new card. I currently have the under 19's account, but it is only a cashline card. I was just wondering whether I should have had a new card,, ie, the chip and pin type card, that I can use in shops?

Patience!
Have you had a letter from the bank advising you about the new cards that u19 accounts will get?
If not you will shortly get such a letter and a card will follow soon.
If you can't wait take your cashpoint card to your nearest branch and ask them to order it for you.
As you are 16 now you do not need parental permission to get this card.0 -

Do you have online banking?!
There should be a section to click to upgrade your account.
If not, go in to your local branch and ask for an account upgrade however they will only upgrade you if you have operated the cash account correctly for the past 12 monthsDELETE ACCOUNT.

Yeah, I do use Internet banking, and must admit, I have never noticed such an option. Possibly since ive only had the account for 6 months ( turned 16 a month after if was set up )Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 17 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20270

Think you will most likely need to run the account for 12 months and then go in branch for an upgrade.
You should receive a letter inviting you to upgrade however this is not always the case and you need to apply anyway.
If you really want a debit card now, there is always Barclays who will give you a Visa debit card and cheque book on there "current account" or Abbey national who will give you a Visa Electron card.DELETE ACCOUNT.

The option to upgrade will not show on Internet banking as he is not yet 18 years of age.
I think he was talking about the card he was issued with.0 -

Lloyds TSB now issue all U19 account customers a VISA Debit card. It was before only available to over 16's but now this has changed (very recently). I suggest you go into branch and ask them, I am sure they will be able to order you one. Lloyds TSB still do not allow use of internet banking until your 16.0

Hi
Don't bother with them. Try Nationwide. My son is 16 also and has had no trouble what so ever. When he is 18 it will change automatically to a Flex Account. We were with the LLoyds - absolutely useless - staff are rude and can't be bothered.
