car accident

i wonder if anyone can advise me ...on sunday my hubby was in a car accident the other party ran into the back of him... i contacted the insurance company and they are willing to get the car fixed etc ...but when i asked to get some legal advice for my husband ...who has been badly injured they said that as we dont have legal cover he is not entitled to any legal cover including a lawyer ...that leaves us with the option of going to a shark to seek some compensation for him ...the insurance company is more than has anyone experianced anything similar or can anyone offer any advice

thanks in advance

  • Sorry to hear of your OH's accident. Are you or he a member of any union or club which could offer legal help? Failing that I would say CAB

When my husband was in a very serious car accident, the other party who caused the accident wasn't insured. My husbands dad contacted one of these no win no fee companies and they were brilliant. He ended up being more than compensated for although, his injuries are life long now.
My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely!

i was in an accident myself and i can honestly say i would give every penny back plus another £10,000 if i could get my health back ...i'm sure you and your hubby feel the same brown eyes ...i hope he isnt in much pain soory to hear that he is still suffering
  • Whats his serious injuries?

It seems to me there is a growing culture of people claiming personal injury after every simple bump

Its quite sad really as I bet most should pop a few paracetamols and take it easy for a few days

Christ you are making assumptions arent you......but if someone is injured in an accident why should they not claim? It's only over-exaggeration of injuries that should be frowned on surely

Do you have legal cover insurance with your home insurance?

This is not limited just to claims about your home.

I think you write down on the insurance claim form about injuries and also make a claim in writing to the other party insurance. They in turn will assess his injuries and send their own specialist in the mean time, I hope he is ok, and attends A & E and gets a written report.
