Has anyone purchased a property without seeing it themselves and just based on own research and survey? Did you regret it? Or have you never looked back?
I have always visited, but I have been offered something that is of interest and wanted to know others experience.

Yeah - loads.
But then I was going to knock 'em all down to build an office block !!
If it's for your own use I think it's always best to look - before or after a survey depending on the inconvenience to you and how far around the world you've got to travel to view it.You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. The best property investment I ever undertook was the purchase of a 2 bed house. I never saw it (or the town) until after completion. It was a spur of the moment decision.
Sold it 18 months later for 42% more! It was only a few years old so I gambled all would be ok and it was. Had it been older I might have thought twice.
A good tip to get a bargain BTW; Buy without having the usual legal conveyance. I recently offered way below asking as I said they would have thier money within a week (the time it took to re - register the property in my name).
Can be risky, but if the price is well below norm' the risk is worthwhile. Any problems can be addressed later. Most things in life are solvable.
Obviously, it might be an idea to have a surveyor check the place although I wouldnt even bother with this if the price is right.0
