As for the Dell, perfect pcs for business - reliable, no hassle, inexpensive.
..if you stick to the offers and don't take the addons..
.. and they're generally not hugely upgradable
As the poster earlier said, you get what you pay for.0 -
I'm on the pro dell side of the fence, we run a _large_ number and they are reliable and quiet. Good value if you buy the right ones, and support may not be excellent, but at least there is some.
Also find their servers to be very acceptable. No experience with other stuff i'm afraid.

PS, i'm somewhat offended by the language used by dc2447, not really necessary imo.0 -

Well I got my Dell Dimension 3000 back at easter on a missprice. What a bargain and I am impressed with the quality of the machine in general. The only problem I've had is the IDE cable was dodgy which meant the HDD kept defaulting to PIO mode and the machine would run like a 486. Swapped the cable and all is fine.
TBH I haven't see a decent Dell deal for a while now, the ones where you get a 17" TFT thrown in for about £300. Maybe that will change in the run up to Christmas?
Cheers

Dell Dimension by far andaway the best built PC I have ever owned. A joy to work with and still going strong after 4 years.
If you can grab one of their famous 'price error' deals, you just can't go wrong.0
