Dell Computer Offers...

Dell Dimenison 1100 £299 including delivery and vat.
Basic Spec:
2.5Ghz
512 ram
80 gig hdd
dvd rom

Value reference code: 305 - D10115

I have seen much better dell offers in the past. I need a 17" flat panel monitor, and this deal only comes with a CTR. I haven't noticed good deals on their site... has any one received any good offers in the postal adverts?

  • no decent offers of late i'm afraid. But if you are patient - they come around once a month or so.

Dell PC's are cheap for a reason.

    Just a thought

The reason being that they need to convince their shareholders that sales are continuing to grow and grow?

Enjoy it while it lasts -- I guess there'll be a time pretty soon when you can no longer get top quality computers from the number one most reliable provider at the cheapest prices...

No - the components they use. Celeron processors, bespoke integrated motherboards, plastic cases etc.

That isn't to say you can't get a decent deal through Dell Outlet or whatever at tiomes but normally you are getting what you pay for.

    Just my 2p.

  • I'm sorry dc2447 but I find Dell computers to be by far the best on the market. My company hire out pc's, laptops and audio visual equipment and I decided only to buy Dell. Their stuff is just top quality and for a usually heavily discounted price.

Oh and several of them have aluminium cases, + none have celeron processors, only pentiums around here.

My only problem would be with their Indian customer service but we don't often have to use it as Dell computers are very reliable.

Well sites like these are all about opinions but I'd struggle to agree that FDell are the best on the market. I guess they are fine for hobbyists etc isd about the best I can say.

Dell aren't bad, but they're far from the best. For many people, support is the real motivation from buying a brand name.. and Dell support is famously lame.

  • I got a 8400 3.2Ghz, 2x 160gig raid & proper 256mb graphics for £400 - off the outlet, which i'm afraid I cant get anywhere else. There's not many £400 pc's out there that can run every game with all the trimmings switched on.

On the other hand you have to know what you are looking for to get a bargain at dell. In my experience the dell's have been really reliable, which is a good job as i wouldn't like to go through that call centre of theirs.

I suppose you could always buy a time or tiny computer!

Search the forums. Thousands of people on here have been very happy with their Dells, and you dont hear people complaining about them. They run very quiet too.
They regularly come top of customer satisfaction polls, and the beauty is that when they misprice, you can get an awful lot of reliable PC for not much outlay.

YOu think that dells are cheap for a reason... and I think that you are a newbie for a reason :)

But granted, the offer at the top of this thread isnt the best one to go for.

Do a search for Dell threads and your eyes will be opened
    Be nice

    Jesus wept. Are you 12?

I'm unsubscribing to this thread as it is going to turn into serious flames if I stick around.
