Does anyone know of any websites where I can compare campervan hire for a number of different companies all at once rather than having to check each companies websites individually?
Also any recommendation of good companies / or bad companies to avoid would be most appreciated.
Thanks very much.

Try this site: https://www.travellerspoint.com go onto the forum.
http://www.travellerspoint.com/forum.cfm?thread=14466 this is a general question on transport travelling round New Zealand.
....... another good one is https://www.newzealand.com for road routes & motorhomes. (click on Find Transport then click on motorhomes)
Hope this helps you. Good Luck0 -
maui rentals do a relocation programme that costs a dollar a day, plus fuel. But fuel is dirt cheap so we ended up doing a whistle stop road trip for next to nothing. It certainly beat flying from the south island to the north island and missing all that beuaty in between. A good way to see some of the country if your on a budget like I was. We had a 4 berth for two of us which meant stacks of space too. Best fun I've had in ages0

We used maui rentals from Christchurch airport and the office was in walking distance (but not with suitcases). We had to wait about 1 hour to be seen and signed up (driving licence check etc etc) and then were showed aroundthe van (lon wheel base mercedes speinter) for 2 of us which was quite adequate. We decided on this van as it had a toilet which should be a must really then it saves you time looking around all the time. If we would have had a bit more time then we would have got the next size up (4 berth) and would have had a bit more space but the cost of the van, extra deisel consumption and size of the van decided against it. There are soo ofew cars on the roads then it is a great way to travel.
Have fun!**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
Son was on his gap year last year and they bought a campervan in NZ to use for touring round the island (Jan/Feb). They had it for five weeks and then took it back and sold it on for the same price to another couple of lads who wanted to do the same thing. It appears that's the way to get round everywhere in NZ. Perhaps you could think about doing that. They didn't make any plans until they got there. They had loads of fun and plenty of tales to tell :rotfl: .0
