Confused

I have been looking at some of the 0% purchase cards, e.g HSBC which is 0% for 12 months and they say that the interest free period is "56 days for purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time". Does this mean that after those 56 days I would be paying the typical rate on the purchase if I had not paid the whole amount?

Only after the 12 months promotion has ended.

After your twelve months, you will get upto 56 days free interest as long as you pay the full payment before the statement due date and you have no cash/BT transactions on there
