quick question about removing old varnish

just a bit of advice..

i bought an old item on ebay which wil need a lot of tlc.... what has happened is someone has put varnish on top of other vanish.. and there is run marks etc...

which would be the nest way to strip it back to the wood....sanding or use paint stripper ?

    Marigold gloves, Nitromors, fine wire wool and a very well ventilated area like a sunny patio. Works a treat...
  • Kling-Strip is nowhere near as toxic and works better than Nitromors!

    have a look for paint stripping company in your area , they will be able to dip and strip your item , it's not that expnsive
