As a Quantity Surveyor I pay people for doing similar work, we pay the following :-

Internal door including removal of old door, patch frame as necessary and hang new door including all ironmongery £18.50

For an external doorset (including frame) including removal and hanging of a door with pretty much all of the ironmongery pre-fitted £68.00

These rates are subject to tax and are based on repetitive work.

My gut feeling (cash in hand) would be £75 assuming there was no other work to do to fill your time in, that is fit the doors and come away.

If you ring round you may get lucky and get it between £30 and £60

They have a full house to go at, patching is generally minimal, joiners seem happy enough with the rates.

Fair enough. If they are happy then obviously the work pays.

having spent nearly all my career in the maintenace field, I must say I wouldn't hang internal doors for £18.50, although I guess if you have a run of houses to do on the same site it wouldn't be too bad.

James, Yes £75 - £80 is what I would normally charge for that, to be fair though, if it was part of more work, or a regular, for that kind of door in that location I *Might* go to £60, but not normally.

I charge £130 for an external door ( a days work), internals I charge £40 per door, unless I have more than 5, then I do them for £35 each. Usually takes an hour to fit and hang the door, fit hardware and sort out stops if needed.
