An ikkle mini ebuyer rant

Is it me or have they got one of the strangest delivery policies around?
I ordered an item earlier this week and thought better of spending £10 on next day delivery as it would have been about an extra 10% on the bill, instead opting for the free delivery which they claim will be within 5 working days.
They have got my money, the item I ordered is in stock and has been allocated to me, but the ship date isn't until next week, 24 hours before the five working days runs out. It looks as though I'll be getting the same courier service as those who paid for the next day delivery.
So people who do shell out for next day delivery aren't getting a service which costs ebuyer more money than the standard delivery, they are bribing ebuyer to send the package straight away rather than taking the money for the order and delaying the dispatch. That doesn't seem right to me.
I guess the ship date for my order might change, although the fact that it hasn't in about two days suggests it wont
Rant, or rather moan I suppose, over.

I think i asked for next day delivery from ebuyer once and didn't get it,so i asked them for a refund of the difference. They were using Citi-link,the service was poor from them.0

... but if delivery can take upto 5 days there's no difference between eBuyer delaying despatch with the courier delivering within 24 hours and eBuyer despatching sooner with the courier company delaying it in transit.0

Sorry cant quite see why you consider this a rant. Are you getting it earlier than expected? If so shouldn't you be praising Ebuyer?0 -

Ebuyer have my money and the stock put aside for my order, but aren't sending it out for a few more days. My point being that they could send it out now but as I didn't 'bribe' them, they aren't.
I expected them to dispatch it as soon as they took my payment, which I don't think is unreasonable. Within five working days shouldn't mean waiting for four of those days before passing the package on to the courier.0 -
I'm not sure that you can say that they aren't paying more for the next day delivery unless you know the terms of their contract with the courier service. They may pay extra for them to take a certain amount/weight of items each day for next day delivery and pay a lower rate for those which they can provide full delivery details for in advance.
It may also be that your item has been marked for dispatch, but they haven't packaged it up etc as they give priority to those who pay for next day delivery. I know that where I work, we do a special run of preparing the special delivery items for dispatch that the 'normal' delivery do not get - they go in the post when they're ready, but we make sure the SD ones are ready on the same day.
I think you may be assuming too much about this - I would certainly be very surprised if they cleared, packed and prepared all the orders at the end of every day but just kept some in storage until the 5 day period was up as monitoring the process would take longer, cost them more and require more storage space.0 -

If you wanted the item quicker why didn't you pay for next day delivery? If you selected super saver then you expect to get wot you paid for i.e. 5 day delivery time. The fact they have it in stock and have taken your money is irrelivant. Still cant see wot your complaining about. I have ordered from Ebuyer in past and on several occassions received the items in less than 5 days when selecting super saver. They also distribute from various warehouses so you wouldn't expect them to send an order without at least processing your payment.0 -
eBuyer quoted the OP £10 for next day delivery.
The Op’s item will be dispatched on day 4 for next day delivery on day 5 – for free, probably by City Link who deliver next day as standard anyway.
The OP is saying eBuyer infer the charge is for the City Link part of the delivery process – but all packages get the next day service, so it’s for eBuyer to dispatch it on the day of order to enable the buyer to receive it the next day.
The OP assumes it costs eBuyer no more to dispatch an item on the day of the order than it does for them to dispatch it within 4 days of the order, which enables delivery to take place within the 5 days.
I expect eBuyer employ a team of people to go and pick items for dispatch on day of order which requires many individual trips around the warehouse to pick individual or very few items – eBuyer quoted the customer £10 for this service for the item they purchased.
Where as items that can be picked within 4 days can be queued and scheduled for picking in a more efficient manner, so one person can take one trip around the warehouse taking the most efficient route to pick many items. eBuyer offered this service at no charge – choosing this service the actual picking of the item can takes place 1 to 4 days after the day of order, dependent on the picking schedule.0 -
i cancelled my account with eBuyer after their stupid sign-in policy (why oh why do you need both email and username (chosen by them, which you can only change by talking to them and not by email or 'notes' as they call it) and password)
why do they keep trying to send things when the payment method has bounced, so you go elsewhere to buy it and end up with 2 of the damned things? (i know some people might like this - but i didnt! - and i know it said it in the email to say it had bounced, but i didnt get that far!)
and why when you return said item - the same day you return an item to play.com - the other company refund a lot quicker and you have to chase eBuyer to get your money back...
i wont go baqck to them, no matter how cheap they are, service is king and i'm not happy (ooh that became a bit more of a rant than it was meant to be!!)Willow: I knew it, I knew it, well not in the sense of having the slightest idea, but I knew there was something I didn't know!0 -

The sign in policy has now changed. You only need your email and password to log in now.Is it me or have they got one of the strangest delivery policies around?
I frequently buy products from ebuyer. They often change shipping dates. You will get an email if it gets changed.0
