Nationwide removing Overdraft

Hi,

I arranged with Nationwide to have an overdraft reducing facility where it would decrease by £60.00 each month (It started at £1900). They advised that it would be taken away with no notice if I was to go over my limit. Getting near payday I knew that the interest was due to come out but due to the bank holiday I wasn't sure which day it would come out so I called them to ask. I was told that due to the bank hol it would come out on the 27th - A day before payday... On the 27th I was £6 over my limit so I went in that day and brought it within the limit. However when I went to use my card today it was declined and they had taken away my OD... I am now looking at receiving lots of charges for unpaid debit/cheque and direct debit payments because I was told today that the money came out on the 26th and that the money will come out of the account even on bank holidays...

Does anyone know if I have good grounds in which to complain and reclaim any bank charges I receive? Appreciate any advice anyone has!

Im sure someone will be along to answer the questions on that, my exp with a NW accounts have been...

Gone overdrawn from auth OD limit, no charges incurred
Gone overdrawn from auth OD limit, no charges incurred, letter saying "we noticed this, and we would like to inform you that your OD is now xxxx"
    Been penalised for going OD

Seems to be very sporadic in how they deal with their OD situations, unauthroised OD's.

From their T&C side, they do have the right to cancel your OD at anytime, but I dont know where that leaves you with DD's etc.
