Last week my electricity supply was off Monday, 6pm-10pm (4), Tuesday 2pm - 2am (12), Saturday 6pm-10pm (4) and Sunday 6am - 6pm (12). I have written a letter to them asking for some form of compensation in view of the 2 x 12 hour losses in which I had to get rid of food. Also had to eat out as I live in a flat and we only have electricity!
I will see what they say but over the phone they quoted the "18 hour" rule which can't be treating the customer fairly. Basically they did two temporary repairs so that they don't go over the 18 hours!!! Rubbish!!!0 -

I have a problem too at the moment with the power being affected in our area. 4 times over the weekend, Saturday night for about 2 hours, sunday morning 9.15am it went off again, Sunday night too at about 5.30ish, and Monday again. All Npower do is send out e-On to replace a fuse in the substation. The power outages are affecting 47 houses we've been told, and they dont know where along the network the cable is probably damaged. All thet can do is replace the substation fuse and wait for it to blow again. Once or twice a day EVERY DAY is NOT on, and as it says in their literature, "your local electricity company is resposible for the power supply in your area, and responsible for the wires and cables that connect to your home and business to the national grid". As ive benn told by an nPower telephonist that "the cables are quite old so they cant do anything until the cable eventually fails, which will then enable then to find the fault" ...!
In this day and age with the BILLIONS that nPower and other suppliers are bragging about making each year, this is outrageous..!
They should be spending those BILLIONS on new cables for the whole area... Were paying extortionate prices for a something were not getting here...!!0 -
Most of it I covered off in this thread.

I'd rather they didn't! All the disruption and inconvenience of having the pavements & driveways dug up. Appreciate you have a problem, we do too from time to time caused by joints failing and our cables are not that old, so a blanket replacement program wouldn't necessarily fix everyone's troubles!0
