In light of todays news from nationwide, who was on the phone to the EA this morning, indeed has anyone dropped there asking price?
Debt free. March 2020

    I suspect, rather than reducing their offer, the effect may be to put people off the whole idea of moving and they may pull out.
    A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.

    Yes, that's my thought at the moment. Was just about the put an offer on but the house(s) interested haven't dropped any prices so playing the waiting game.

    We can wait longer than them :D

    The knock-on effect is that the market may actually stagnate further as people pull their houses in the belief that they can ride out the slump...It will be an interesting development

    So will the buyers break first or will the sellers........I know which ones my money is on.

    It is just history repeating itself.
    RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    I dropped mine on a flat yesterday. Paid 165 for it in 2002 - identical flats went for 210 in early 2007. Put it on the market at 159 in november. Nothing. Dropped it to 149 in Feb. Nothing.

    Dropped to 144 yesterday....

    City Centre apartments are a bell weather that leads the general market (they go up faster at the begnining of a bull run - remember all those off plan buyers making a killing in the early 2000s - and conversley they are just as extreme in the other direction) those of you who are wondering on the extremity of this 'correction' when it trickles accross the less fickle home market should work out some of the % swing on that flat! From 210 to less than 144 in a year! You can expect that kind of decline from peak in general housing over the next 2 years....
