Had to pull out of Buying thanks to no interest :(

Hi forum,

A while back I posted my pain at having very very little interest in my flat and how it was starting to get to breaking point.

Well today it happened, the only interested party withdrew completely and now Ive had to withdraw from buying our new house (move in date was 3 weeks time)

After dropping the place to fixed and then dropping it overall about 15% from the expected price Im now starting to wonder if it will sell at all.

Just feel so bad for the people in my chain as they now have to try and resell their place in 3 weeks to meet their new place. This kinda thing must be affecting depression levels in the uk immensily

Already today ive nearly went for a work colleague and im sitting in work with no motivation and just feel so low thanks to all this :(

Hi Oblivion, I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling so bad. Try not to worry about the other people in the chain. If they really want to move they can drop the price and find a buyer. Me and OH are FTBs and hoping to complete in next couple of weeks. We do exist! But we're only willing to pay a fair price. House we're buying was on the market at less than many others, so we viewed it and liked it and agreed to only 5k off the 155K asking price - it seemed a fair price to us and was valued as that in the survey. Other houses at 10-20k more we're not looking at as we don't expect they'll want to lower the price that much, even if that's really what it might be worth.
If you want to sell, lower the price a lot if you can and you'll get viewers. If you do it now you might be able to get on with your house purchase if they're willing to drop a bit to meet you half way.
Good luck!! and heads up. at least it's sunny! x

Have some chocolate and a cuppa and tell yourself it's not the end of the world.

Sorry to hear the news Oblivion
I've in in this situ 6 times over the past 15 years (moved about a lot) - it's so depressing.
Probably doesn't help much but each time it's happened to me I've ended up with buying a better place than the one I'd had to walk away from so hope this will be the case for you x
