Hi, is there anyone here that may be able to help(dont know if in the right place) MIL bought grandson pair of trainers (£85) within hours of him wearing them they started to fray. SIL took them back to the shop and was told bysa that he must of snagged them and sent her on her way.MIL was well miffed and went to the shop herself and was offered a investigation, which she didnt want she wanted a refund so reluntly she took the investigation. she ranf OFT and they told her to write a letter and give them two weeks which she, two weeks was up yesterday so she rang the store and the !!! manager said give me an hour and ill sort something out. well you can guess the next bit, no call and now shes chewing at the bit...my point is if the goods are not fit for purpose your intitled to a refund, right?
always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T

if they are not fit for the purpose and at that price you expect them to last a while not like shoe fayres £10 trainers then you are entitled to a refund or a replacement - the shop has to then take it up with the supplier / manufactuer
go into the shop with a freind/partner (strength in numbers) and state you want it sorting and you wont leave the shop until you do0 -
thanks bill this is wot i keep telling the MIL, but she thinks that calling first is better....why its getting her nowhere, then she goes on about OFT and its driving me mad..isnt that wot MIL do best?always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T0

maybe your MIL should contact whoever makes the trainers (ie nike, etc) and see what joy shes gets off them?Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0

Your contract is with the shop not the manufacturer
