15-50% price rise

I know that there is a buzz about possible 15-50% energy price rises this summer. My only question is where does this prediction come from? I know oil prices are on the up and up at the moment which impacts on transportation costs. But who has made this 'hike' prediction, energy companies who want to tie people in to deals?

Am I being too sceptical?

I think so, Spark energy put their prices up last week, 14% on Electric 36% on gas, I would imagine the other companies doing similar in the coming months.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
