First direct bank charges

Ok, pay day is today and i had been away on holiday.
I looked at my statement today and i had £100 of bank charges as there was insufficient funds for direct debits to successfully go through. This direct debit was all from my car insurance company. I thought i had cancelled the direct debit with the car insurance company and that i was too pay manually.
There was in total 4 attempts (£25) each on 2 seperate days.
I rang first direct to explain to this to them and it turned out they offered me no refund at all even though i explained i was in finacal difficulties this month and the charges would repeat next month unless i was giving a refund!! She said that i should take it up with endsleigh as it was their mistake and they should give me a refund of the bank charges.
How outrageus!!!! any ideas???

If you did cancel the Direct Debit, it should be the insurance company you should be asking about this.
Read Martin's guide for information on reclaiming, should you decide to go down this route.0
