  • Hiya GirlySquare....... here you are!

    Tartilfette

    750g Potatoes
    1 onion
    6 rashers of bacon
    2 triangles of brie
Large tub of creme fraise or cream

    Oven 220c/gas 7

Peel and thicky slice potatoes, boil in salted water for 10 mins, drain.
Chop onion finely and fry in 1oz butter and drizzle with olive oil, cook for 5 mins, snip bacon nto pieces and add toonon, cook for a further 5 mins until cooked.
Chop cheese into chunks (also the rind if you like it). Layer half the potatoes in a caserole dish and scatter over half the onion, bacon and cheese. Lightly season with salt and pepper. Repeat layers then pour over the cream and bake for about 20 mins or until potatoes are soft.

This receipe was given to me by geordielass who got if off her sister who lives in the South of France.
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o

We just got back from week away, eating out every night! I am hoping to avoid anything but the most basic shopping as I want to spend today doing a bit of a spring clean = * means I don't have it in. So -

Sat - bits 'n' pieces - peanut dip with crudites, various cold meats, smoked trout, bread
Sun lunch - the rest of the bits 'n' pieces from the fridge
Sun dinner - something chinese - I'm defrosting some duck, and I'm itching to try the roast duck noodle soup from the new BBC Good Food magazine
Mon - faggots (from freezer, not hm), mash* & peas
Tues - trout fillets baked in foil with flavourings, new potatoes, salad*
Wed - meatballs in hm sauce, spaghetti
Thurs - something with chicken breast
Fri - lamb and chickpea curry for grownups, soup & cheese on toast for children
    Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600
    Overpayments to date: £3000
    June grocery challenge: 400/600

I have to be really organised now as i am looking after children before and after school so meal plans are really helping me. It also means at the beginning of the week i can give the parents the meal plan so they know what the children are eating. You would not belive the how shocked the parents are that i make everything.

Sunday: Roast lamb with all the trimmings
Monday:SC beef stew with lots of veg and mash
Tuesday:HM burgers in HM rolls and HM chips and salad
Weds:HM salmon fish cakes with HM wedges, peas and carrots
Thurs: HM chicken nuggets with mash and veg
Friday:SC chicken stew with mash and veg

    Breakfasts: porridge or toast
    Lunches: cheese or ham sandwiches
Snacks: veg sticks, fruit, HM cakes or HM cookies

Drinks: milk, apple juice or water

I have made this plan using things i already have in.
