It seems to be the spanish way, a bit strange for those of us more used to speed cameras, congestion charging, traffic wardens, wheel clamps and standing in line for mediochre service, which we reward with a 10% tip."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Hi harryandrew Sorry no knowledge of special schools, but I do know that when the British kids go to the Spanish schools, they have to stay in the "Junior" level for an extra year until their Spanish is good enough for them to handle the "Senior" school. They get extra Spanish lessons while the Spanish kids do English!
Maybe this may help

Well many do seem to make a living running a bar, but many fail too. It seems that you have to be competitive, pick the right area, find the right theme and work long hours to live reasonably.
Where were you thinking to going to?

Hi there harry andrew!
Yes, I would say to compete with th Spanish in running a bar you have to be willing to work all the hours God sends. It CAN work, is not easy. The Irish-run bar at the top of our village is frequently open until 5 a.m!
Can't help you about special schools, sorry.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Does anyone know of cheap methods to ring back to the UK from Spain, I have a Telefonica landline. To ring Spain I use the info on this site i.e. 1866 1899, etc., but what about ringing back?Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club

I have a package from Spantel. I can't rmrember what it is offhand, but I pay E11.60 a month and have about five hour's worth of calls to the UK. (does not include calls to mobiles). I have never exceeded it and we phone the UK a LOT! There are other packages (cheaper and dearer). I think the link is https://www.spantel.es
If you have to ring an 0800 (not free from Spain), 0845, 0870 or similar in the UK, go on to http://www.saynoto0870.com/ and get a geographical number and it will be counted as part of your five hours.
Obviosly you still have to pay the Telefonica line rental.
Hope this helps.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

There are many providers for cheap telephone calls, some give poor service. I use telefonica for broadband, which gives me free calls in Spain. Teleforce to call international. It costs nothing to join, you dial 1052. See their website or PM your number and I can get them to contact you."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Wouldn't you all be better off using Skype for telephone calls + get yourself a skype number so any calls from UK are free?0
