No I think it goes around the 6th of the month. Keep your fingers crossed that it holds up. I heard a guy on the radio this morning saying that they thought the rate would improve as the year goes on. He estimated it would go to 1 eur = 0.80 which is a bit more hopeful.

I'm keping my fingers crossed too, just sent a top up to Spain, and off to France next week so need some Euros while over there too. Let's hope it gets over the 1.20 mark.

Yes it is slowly creeping in the right direction. Had to transfer some over to Spain, via my "free" Halifax-Halifax transfer, they gave me 1.164 last night, not marvellous, but better than I have been getting recently. Leaving for our next ski-ing adventure, this time with the 'van tomorrow, heading for northern France, so may be a bit hit and miss on here.

    Hi Guys,

I interacted some time ago whilst we explored the idea of selling up and travelling around Europe (to start with). Well, we did sell up and have been here in beautiful Saville for 10 months now. It has been fabulous and we have loved it. Sadly our time is amost up (August) so will be moving on.....if we don't we will regret not keeping to our plans, maybe not next year but sometime we are sure.

We can really recommend Seville, for a short or long stay, although be warned it is more expensive here, it is a well heeled area! But friendly, safe and full of things happening. The locals have been kind and helpful, and good natured as we have stumbled and murdered their language! :T

Anyway, we have to go back to the UK for 6 months or so, buying a property to rent out - it's got to be better than waiting for interest rates to pick up! then we plan to set off for Umbria, Italy.

Here comes the crunch.....anyone got some advice / info re Umbria?

    Thanks

Well, wow, good luck, tw0906blue, but sorry, I know almost nothing about Umbria.

Glad you enjoyed Seville. It's a place I've been wanting to visit for a long, long time, and when the pound is back at 1,60€, I'll go!!!

I think that was the suicidal soul of Hope.

It got to the WestMids quickly! It's only just left my bank.

Wow - the thread has gone cold - your fault droopsnout - usually its mine. Guess everyone is outside soaking up the glorious sunshine. Had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Donny-Gal yesterday in Tenderden in Kent. Lovely olde worlde village. Nice food and a good chat. They were en-route to Normanday with their 'van. Guess we will hear their travel tales as they go.
