It was a typical bank holiday up the M4 corridor, weather wise. Cloudy and rainy. Fortunately the traffic jams were going the other way, so sorry if you were in them!

Although my father maintains today is NOT a bank holiday as defined in some act or other. And the Toby Carvery apparently agreed with him because their "carvery and sundae for £5" offer was available, and it isn't available on bank holidays.

Hi Savvy-Sue - Good Friday was never a bank holiday. I can remember when we still worked on that day. In my earlier years we even worked on Saturday morning. Guess your Father is my age.

What a beautiful day. Sunshine all day and 22C. We are just back from a stroll round the City park and guess what......... the baby ducks are hatching. What a beautiful site to see.
Now having a cool drink on the Patio.

Sunny here but very windy and quite cold if not actually in the sun.

gfplux, please excuse my terrible ignorance, but what language do they speak in Luxembourg? Is it French?

(edited to add) OK : found it on Wikipedia!

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

I'd like you all to know that we've had a lovely sunny day here in the SW corner of England too! DH and I had been planning to go into the office, but scrapped that for a lovely walk in the woods.

    Hello Seven-day-weekend.
I have to say my wife and daughter both speak fluently French, English, German and Luxembourgish. My wife is semi fluent in Italian and my daughter is now doing Spanish which the school will expect her to be fluent in 2 years time.!!
And me, well don't ask, just remember I was born in England!
