caffeine ... although I can't say it's made a huge difference to me, so don't hold your breath. I even gave up chocolate for a while.

One suggestion though is to get a home blood pressure monitor, and take it yourself. You can usually achieve 'better' conditions than in a surgery, ie you can have been sat down not talking for 15 minutes beforehand, you won't get 'white coat syndrome', and you can take it at the same time every day for a week and see if it really is as high as it seems.

Don't bother with a wrist one, those that go around your upper arm are more accurate.

    Lots of useful info here.

rying to decide what to do for April now switch on the 30 hour, which I can switch off, or try to find another 24-7 cover, which allows me to switch on/off per month when I am here or not, Anyone know of this? DG

I don't really know the ins ann outs of it all, but some local visitors here in Spain use a Vodafone Dongle with their laptop to get on the internet, there is also a company called Telitec which might be able to help if they cover your area

should have said that's "not talking or drinking tea for 15 minutes beforehand." The not drinking tea is the bit that always foxed me, people are quite happy not to talk to me in the morning, but I do like my tea! I drink Redbush, btw, so no caffeine.

All these early Eastwood 'spaghetti western' films should have been called 'paella westerns' as they were all made in the Tabernas desert in Almeria province, Spain.

Have you visited any of the 'film' sets in Tabernas, there seem to be several. We live about 1hr away and are toying with going next week. Is there one you would recommend

    Hi, everyone!

I changed my address with MSE then went off to see my daughter in Switzerland. While I was there, I got two notification e-mails to the new address then everything went quiet for well over a week. It was so untypical that yesterday I decided to check the forum and had to catch up with five pages of reading! AOK now and the notifications coming through thick and fast, as usual. Weird, though.

With the Euro currently equivalent to almost £0.95p, I recommend the following site to anyone who wants to display true British grit in a crisis.

    http://www.keepcalmandcarryon.com/

They have a range of stuff based on the reproduction of a 1939 propaganda poster and deliver to anywhere in the world, I think. I'm seriously considering getting something from them - at least I can use sterling - and it will be a fine souvenir of the recession.
:hello: Life is mostly one solvable problem after another.

No, we've not visited them yet Sandy. Always there on the list! It's about a two-hour drive for us.

    Whereabouts are you?

    Hello, carrots!

Nice to see you back. I've missed you!

  • Sandy, we are over the border in Granada Province, in Las Alpujarras.
