Good news is that I got .9857 euros to the £ in M&S this morning
Hope your DS has a great holiday, Sue, but I can't accept that exchange rate as "good news"!!

It'll be good news when £1 is back at 1,50€!

Had friends for dinner last night, and now jiggered.

Were they tasty, can we have the recipe

Warm them up, serve with bread and wine, add spice. Delicious!

Do you think that's ever likely to happen?

No - but I'm not well known as an optimist, lol!!

"Experts" I've heard interviewed seem to think that it may get back to 1,20€ or 1,30€ by June/July. But I bet they've barely more idea than the rest of us.

Hope you and all the family are having a great New Year, francophile. Is DH out on his bike?

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Just back from our trip out in the 'van, hardly got above freezing, also had freezing fog and a hoar frost, but we had a great time, think someone should question our sanity.

Will catch up and be back later.

:rotfl: Well, the good part was that it was a smidgeon up on the rates you quoted earlier, so hopefully moving in the right direction!

i think I could have got slightly better than that even, but only if he'd wanted £650 or more. Which for a week, he didn't.

And I'm sure he'll have a lovely time once he's escaped from me!

He hasn't been out on the bike for a few weeks now as the roads are very mucky and he doesn't like to get it dirty!!! It takes too long to clean it afterwards and he likes to have it shining like a new pin (boys and their toys!!!).
We had a lovely New Year thanks with friends round for dinner.
Happy New Year to you and everyone else on this thread.
