What is the Best Printer / Copier / Scanner

Hi

I am setting up a small office at home and need a combined copier, scanner, fax, printer.

Can anyone tell me what is the best out there for not too much money?????

Will only be printing documents, not photo's.

Thanks

Ady

  • Hummm...the problem with asking questions like your is peeps will give their opinion on their experience. I suggest you go here https://www.ebuyer.co.uk search for all in one printers choose the ones you like the look and price of and then click on the customer reviews. At least this way you can get more info on them

I appreciate that an all in one machine is cheaper than the three separate ones, and takes up much less space.

I did consider getting one of these, but I decided against it because if one component goes wrong and needs to be repaired, then I'd be without the lot and I just cannot afford that in my line of work.

Perhaps this is a point worth bearing in mind if you depend heavily on these machines facilities?
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
  • Before you make a purchase ensure you look at consumables cost,I pay 58p for black ink cartridge and 81p plus vat for a triple colour cartridge for my Epson printer, from svp

For some hp you have to pay £10 plus.

  • As lasers are generally cheaper to run you might be interested in this http://www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10281165&pid=2&tid=447
Although its not yet listed I assume http://www.refilltoner.com/index.htm (and similar) can help you with cheap refills.I have not used Canon lasers but its a good name.

    I second Blackhurstm's proposal.
Most people tend to focus on the upfront costs [or initial outlay] for the product, only to find that the cheapest product often has the most expensive consumables - and compatible products aren't usually available.

I switched to an Epson printer for this very reason, and have never looked back. I also buy my consumables from SVP, and buy the compatible - rather than Epson - branded products.

Obviously, you're loking for a 3-into1, but the gist is still the same. Check out consumables, because they will be you ongoing costs for 3-5 years.
    Good luck.
