I have just bought some ram from ebay for my g/f laptop it is pc133 the crucial website says 133 for a dell lat c600 , but others say pc100 will the 133 work with alongside a pc100 module?

Comments

  • it's best not to mix different clock speeds of ram, so if the laptop already has a pc100 module then this is what you should buy.

What should happen is the PC133 module will only run at PC100, because the slowest module depicts the speed of any others.

Also, if you have trouble getting it to boot up, try swapping the modules round, as in some laptops the BIOS seems to check the clock speed on only one of the modules and assume that the other is the same.

It should work fine but at 100Mhz.
