Can you make your dvd multi-region?

I bought a multi-region dvd at Richer Sounds last year and took it back ot Poland with me. It was only programmed for region 2. When I called the manufacturer, Toshiba, they said they don't make multi-region players. when I called Richer Sounds, they said they enter a code to make it zero region. I insisted on a refund, whcih I got (and 20 quid of vouchers too. Very helpful people). When I returned the original to the shop, I noticed they had a model of another player I'd bought in the meantime. They gave me instructions which unfortunately didn't work. Mine is Cyberhome brand. Any ideas?
