Late electricity bill
I moved into a new property in Dec 06. We took the meter reading when we moved in and gave it to British gas and set up our new account. We then received a bill for the wrong meter. I complained and the account was put on hold. Three months later another bill still wrong meter. British Gas then got the correct meter linked to the property but keot getting the starting meter readings worng and he estimated readings. Today i have recieved a bill for £1300 from BG. It is stil wrong, still wrong starting reading. I have complained in excess of 10 times and feel like giving up!! Does any one have any suggestions what I should do!!! I just want to pay the bill but cant see why \I should pay what i havent used.

Try putting it in writing. Tell them all the relevant information about your property and its metering, the start reading(s), the current reading(s), meter number, MPAN etc. etc. Also tell them that you are willing to pay only when you receive a correct bill and outline all the issues have had. Also let them know that it has cost you a significant amount of time and phone calls and that you expect to receive some sort of goodwill gesture.
