Digibox

Do digiboxes have timers in, or will analogue switch-off put an end to recording TV programs while you're out?

Comments

  • Some do have timers - though I've never got mine to work - I just leave my box on and use the VCR timer

  • I don't know if you meant just terrestrial digiboxes but Sky Digiboxes have a Personal Planner where you can set the box to automatically switch channels to let you record stuff while you're out. It will even bring the box out of standby and put it back when the programme has finished.

I think your confused, an analogue signal has nothing to do with recording TV programs via a timer.

He means with a normal video recorder you could set the timer record to record BBC1 from 7 till 8 and ITV from 9 till 10; but with a digibox you cannot set your timer record for two separate channels (say, BBC3 and ITV2) unless you have a timer in your digibox to change the channel too.

My old OnDigital (Nokia) box has a timer - when you buy a new one look at the specification.

You set your video to record from the digibox....av in.......select the programmes in your personal planner and the digibox will change to the selected channel ,you must select auto view in the digibox personal planner
