My wife fancied a Mini but in the end she bought a Suzuki Swift, pretty nice looking and even the smallest 1.3 has 90 BHP. Cheap to buy as well. Even Clarkson likes the Sport version.

We've just got the basic 5 door 1.3 GL and it's a lot cheaper to buy than a Mini. They also do a 1.5 petrol and a Diesel version.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Fun article; but I think he is being a bit harsh oin the 1.2 engine. It will cruise at 70mph just fine even with a few bodies in it. 80mph is OK but I imagine doesn't do much good for mpg anything above that is pushing it a bit :)

Oh how I wish the old Panda was 100hp...
  • I was quite interested to hear how owners got on with their 100hp panda's.

It seems only one answer to the question, but have you considered a Hummer1, its got more power than the panda and loads more street cred!

Why doesn't anyone answer a question asked here anymore, instead of trying to get an OP to do something else.

Did you get one in the end *BigBird*? Having test driven a 500 last week (my girlfriend has subsequently ordered one to replace her MX5) I have been won over to the benefits of small cars and am now looking at 100HPs.

The reviews are generally good and you can get a good discount on a new one (unlike the 500) but I haven't been able to find one at a dealer to test drive yet!

my advice is do not buy a panda unless you want to be stopping on the motorway every half hour or so to pick up the bits that have dropped off..

..oh and do you know what Fiat stands for? Fix It Again, Tony!

Care to provide some facts and figures instead of just unsubstantiated claims?

Have a look here, Fiat are more reliable than Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar and Volvo amongst others, although they are far from the most reliable manufacturer.

    That looks better. :p
  • Good grief, if you think a fiat is bad, dont dare mention a mini, complete bundle of scrap. Stick with the panda mate, good small cars.
