Does Cater Allen require you to maintain the £5k deposit for their current account or can you deposit the cash to open the account and then allow it to drop? You could possibly get as good customer service from FD without the need to tie up that kind of cash in a current account?

Tbh I'm a bit of a "big chunk at a time" person and not a drip feeder so 9/10 times there's a fair bit in my current account until I take my finger out and move it elsewhere.
