Best Bank For Current Account, Savings, and Cash ISA under one roof

Hi All,

We have been with Smile for many years now, and while their service is excellent, the interest rates now are not - particularly on the savings account and Cash ISA which we want to have in addition to our current account.

The question is where do all you moneysavers who like to have all your accounts (current account, savings account and cash ISA) at one bank recommend?

I've been pondering as to whether to move accounts away from Smile to get a better deal, but I dont want bad customer service, so First Direct is tempting with their 7% regular ISA and 8% regular savings accounts, but the lack of any interest at all on the 1st account puts me off a little.

I dont want too much hassle in moving money around into savings accounts so having everything under one roof at Smile was ideal - instant transfers between accounts.

The other completely different option is just to go for highest interest rate in each of the accounts and have them with 3 different banks, but it just seems a little messy to me.... Our account gets credited with around £3500 every month so there is no issue with minimum deposits anywhere...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated - we really need to make a decision and get all this sorted out soon!

Many thanks,

Joon

Abbey would be a good one to try and go with or A & L also, both have online internet banking and ISA and savings account.

I use Barlclays for ISA (which interest is currently over 6% - one of the highest in the market), current account and saving account.

Although the saving account rates are not the best (around 4.5% on e-saver account), I love the flexibility it offers with online banking. I don't know any other bank that would send you a little device free of charge to increase your online banking security.

So I just keep money in the e-saver account (which is a joint account we have with my wife), transfer them online into the current account when needed (the transfer is instant) and always have access to my ISA account if I want to pay in.

In addition, Barclays is one of the 12 banks that is offering quick transfers (in 2 hours) from and into account.
