British Gas Capped until May 2009

I'm currently with BG for Gas and Electric, both capped until May 2009. Fair enough you might say, but what are my bills going to be like by then?! Is there any chance of extending the duration of an existing price cap or applying for one now at todays rates to replace the May 09 deal?

Also, what is the punishment for jumping off the SS British Gas during a capped period and onto a better capped deal?

Anyone any thoughts?

I spoke to British Gas about 2 weeks ago regarding a capped tariff, the operator was very helpful saying they had sold all of the 2009 places. I told him that I was advised there were places left the previous day and after speaking to his supervisor was able to put me on 2010 tariff.

I am currently with BG and capped until 2010, was previously with them on the capped 2007 rate until that expired.

Even if i input my usage into price comparison sites i am still better off staying with BG.
