We have a Panasonic DMR-E55 DVD recorder which is about 3.5 years old
It has recently stopped displaying anything on the attached TV screen. It will actually record from the TV to disc but, when I playback, nothing appears on the TV. Also, if I try to use the Direct Navigator or Functions buttons, a blank screen appears. When I remove the DVD disc and try in another recorder, whatever program I have recorded on the DMR-E55 plays out fine.
I have checked that all the scart cables, aerial leads and RF coaxial etc are connected OK. Also, I have tested these cables out with a VCR (and the same TV) and the VCR picture and menu options display OK.
Please can someone advise me if the DMR-E55 is ready to be scrapped or whether this problem can be fixed cheaply? I am expecting to be told the former but I thought it wise to check anyway. The unit has been used constantly over the 3.5 years so it does not owe us anything.
Thanks
