Did post this in the I wanna board but was told it might be better here, anyways...
I'm after a speed camera detector and want any recommendations and cheap prices that anyone might have. I have heard that you can get the combo that includes sat nav too, what are these like? And again what are prices like too?

I went for TomTom, as I already had a PDA... only cost me around £60.00 in the end... but you'll need a PDA to start off with.
However if you do get any form of SatNav, you can get free GPS Speed Camera Detection from https://www.pocketgps.co.ukSmile... it's free0 -
What's the cheapest price for a TomTom? Haven't got a PDA. Are TomToms the best or is there better?2p off is still 2p off!0

Cheapest price is (ahem) free, but you can pick it up for about £20 or so on ebay. That plus another £40-50 for the GPS receiver and mount to fix the whole thing to your car. And another £150-200 on the PDA.
TomTom is pretty good and is the most supported product out there.
You can get a Mitac for about £200 which comes with everything (Navigator software and GPS mount) which is easier and possibly a better bet if you're buying the PDA for GPS. The built-in software is very good.0 -

Are these any good? Can they be used for warning about speed cameras too?2p off is still 2p off!0 -

I'm just about to buy the GARMIN I3 STREET PILOT ALL IN ONE IN CAR GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM from Currys (£199, but 5% off with discount code). I've been checking up a bit on sat nav lately. This is the best value for money at the moment. You can down load Points of Interest (POI) for free from loads of places (e.g http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/) - this includes speed camera alerts.0

I use a Navman iCN 610 with speed camera database which plots your position and compares it with the camara locations from the data base. I also use a Beltronics 980 which alerts if the camera is actually switched on and emitting radar, detects mobile units and laser all of which a gps system will fail to achieve. On some roads i've seen cameras every few hundred yards and the Bel lets me know that out of say a dozen devices only Two or Three may be active at any one time....the gps only alerts to their presence.

I have this unit and can recommend it. I understand some units do not ship with a driver CD, but this is easily downloaded from Garmin.com.0
