Any Word Experts Out There?

I've been doing a bit of work for a local author. I've just finished a batch of maps/descriptions and formatted them to how he wanted.
Part of the batch came on a floppy, and were already set out on Word. When I first saw the pages, I thought it would be an easy job to move the diagrams to where I wanted, then do the rest of the page formatting as he needed.
The problem came when I saw that the diagrams were created using some form of draw function in word. I couldn't copy the diagrams as a whole. Each time I tried, I could only copy individual parts of the diagram. This made the whole job a lot harder than I thought at first. I've now done this batch (after lots of fiddling).
I've used Corel for years, and this is my personal preference for word processing. I find it a lot more user friendly. I think this has contributed to my problems with these diagrams in word.
Is there anyone out there that knows their way around Word very well? If anyone could PM me with an email address, I will send one of the pages as an attatchment. You will see the diagram/map I'm on about. I'd like to know if this can be saved as a whole in a picture format (jpg, gif, tiff etc).
Here's hoping.

Sounds like the drawings were ungrouped, and that's why you couldn't copy them over. If you open the docs in Word, you should be able to select all the items in a drawing, group them, and then move the whole drawing as one part.

Should be possible to copy diagrams. You could try deleting all but the diagram then "select all" and group. This group should then be suitable for copy and paste.0

Cheers for the answer. I've just tried your suggestion. I selected the drawing, the box appeared on the outside as if I've selected the whole thing. I right clicked, went down to grouping, but all the selections weren't bold. So I couldn't choose any of the options.
I bet this is something really easy to do. It's a right pain when you don't know your way around a program well. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

As bingo bango said, but if you are wanting it as an image file why not just do a print screen into a graphics application.0

The reason I was thinking of saving the diagrams to a picture format is so I can do the work in Corel. I find it so much easier working with WordPerfect. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

You could always go to "Save As" and choose webpage and see if it saves the diagram as 1 file or seperate images.0

Yes that's worked as well. Saves it as a gif.
