Good Afternoon,
After hearing the millions of people, especially children that have been effected by the China Earthquake on 12th May 2008. Myself and two friends on Thursday 22nd May, put into action a Charity Fundrasing Event for the China Earthquake. This event is very close to my heart as firstly being from chinese decent and secondly, the effected Sichuan area was where my grandfather was born.
This post is to ask for help, advice, support and sponsorship. Over the weekend we have decided to donate all the proceeds to the HSBC China Earthquake Relief (via the HK Red Cross). Ideally we would like to raise enough money to help re-build a school in this area.
The event will be held at Yang Sing Restaurant, Princess Street, Manchester on 5th August 2008. This event requires tickets at £50.00 or £500.00 table of 10. This includes a drinks reception, Live entertainment (China Black & Daniel Ryan), Banquet, Charity Auction, raffle and after party.
Since this is a new event, we are just at the begining of contacting large organistaions for donations in the form of cash or prizes. I am asking if anyone knows of big companies that will be generous enough to donate prize items to out auction and raffle.
I would like to appeal for any advice on how to run a sucessfull night, any legislation/laws I have to be aware of etc.
I have registered the company and opened a charity bank account. HSBC and several other companies in Manchester are supporting this event.
If anyone is reading this, and would like offer their help, services or maybe have contacts that maybe useful, please contact me on 07818 898 898, or by email on kate@chiyip.co.uk.
Many Thanks for taking time to read this post. :A
