british gas price protection 2010
sorry if this has been discussed before. i had a quick glance at the last 3 pages and could nto find any reference to it.
what are your views about the british gas price protection 2010, where they freeze your new energy prices so that they stay the same till 2010 for both gas and electricity.
apart from the fact that you are tied into these rates and have to pay close to 75 pounds to cancel this deal before april 2008, does this deal have any merit
or is it merely exploiting our fear that prices will keep goign up and up and we need to act fast to save money
i am with powergen now and they are charging 49 pounds dd per month for a 3-bed semi. i am on dd and online billing but i have not sent them a reading yet (note to self, do it now).

I read somewhere (could be on here somewhere) that a number of new gas import facilities due to come into operation in 2007 will mean that wholesale gas prices will fall substantially in 2007. Worth bearing in mind.
Hopefully someone will post a link, 'cause I can't find it now...0 -
5 page thread on the very same subject a few threads down.

Thanks for that jem16, I knew I'd read about it somewhere - I wasn't dreaming...
I don't pay that much attention to gas threads as we aren't on piped gas.0 -
thanks for the replies. i read the thread and indeed it is not as good a deal as they claim it to be (surprise surprise). in fact it looks like you could be worse off and be tied into their deal as well0
