if someone is building their own home is there

any tax advantage to taking on a builder who is VAT registered? can one reclaim the VAT? thanks in advance.

    Not unless you are aVAT registered business and then it would have to be classed as a purchase of the business. The builder should be VAT registered if his turnover is above £67k.
