Hotel/B&B Penrith 1/6 - 7/6

I know this is sh0rt notice but my father has to work in Penrith from Sunday 1st of June until Saturday 7th of June. His company are allowing him £50 per night for a hotel but if he can tie up breakfast and/or dinner in a package around this price then that is also fine.
Can anyone help find anything anywhere near this? I have tried travel lodge and booking.com but they are a bit pricey.
Any help is extremely gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Barrie

There is very little to be had around Penrith for £50 except in the winter, because there aren't actually that many places to stay other than B&Bs AND there are some very expensive ones, which make the cheaper ones raise their prices...
Where is he actually working (PM me if necessary) and I might be able to recommend? Will he have a car?
If he can travel about a bit (say Carlisle = 20 miles, clear motorway all the way), then there is a bigger choice and lower prices.
For B&Bs, this Google link will give you soe B&Bs with websites:

Thanks for the reply.
I had a bit of a potch about on laterooms and found a b&b called the Kings Arms in a small village for £40 a night. It is only really a bed for him so not too worried what it will be like as he will be working all day.
Thanks again

The Kings Arms in Temple Sowerby then!
Should be nice there now - the A66 bypass opened a few months ago - the village is now nice and quiet.
Up until then, the A66 went past the front door!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
