Oh definitely, especially if you like making soups and stuff as they're so easy to use and clean up after (quick rinse under the tap) and no faffing about transferring stuff into blenders and creating more washing up!
You can pick them up for about a tenner I think, or if you want to go a bit more upmarket and get one with a chopper attached, for doing little jobs like blend herbs etc, there's this one at Amazon for just under £20. I got this to replace my old one which I'd had for about 15 years when it finally gave up the ghost a few months ago
