Free Turf
Thought I'd just add this tip - if you are thinking of turfing an area of your garden and are more worried about cost than appearance, it is possible to get free turf. My local garden centre keeps a supply of turf in stock but if it is unsold after 5 days they simply throw it away. My brother in law asked if he could have it (for nothing) rather than it go to waste and they agreed. It was starting to dry out a bit and turn slightly yellow/brown, and he had to transport it himself, but it's been down about a week and with a good watering every evening it's coming back to green.
I understand that the 'keep for 5 days then throw away' is quite common practice so why not try your local garden centre too!

Why not try phoning and asking - blushes are not so obvious and they don't know who you are?0
